There are 3 main steps to joining EFETnet:
1. Sign the standard EFETnet contract
The Early Movers group comprising Barclays Capital, Electrabel, Gaselys and RWE have worked with EFET and EFETnet to develop a single standard set of Terms and Conditions that provides clients with immediate rights to access the software and helpdesk service. EFET has also developed the 'Electronic Communication Agreement' (ECA) to supplement members' various Master Agreements and allow electronic confirmation of trades made under such agreements. Click the link to the right of the page to download both these agreements.
2. Ponton Consulting helps install EFETnet software
The software may be downloaded directly and with the help of Ponton staff, installed and connected to backend systems, this is a simple process that typically takes 2-3 days.
Clients will then be able to enter a testing phase which is coordinated by EFETnet and uses several other existing clients to play the role of a 'counterparties' for test purposes. Testing may take up to 4 weeks, at the end of this phase the client installation will be assessed for
compliancy with EFET's Standards and on success certified by EFETnet.
3. EFETnet certifies your system
Once a new client installation has gained EFETnet certification no further testing is necessary and all other EFETnet clients may exchange data with confidence that the new installation has reached the required standard and is capable of participating in business transactions.
